Say you're in a cafe, and you want to connect to Wi-Fi. Normally this would require scanning the cafe for any signs of a network name and password. Once found, you'd still have to go into your settings, find the Wi-Fi network in the list, and then type in the password, sometimes having to reference it from afar, multiple times.
Tenso allows you to forget all of that. Just tap an NFC tag and you're connected. What's that? Your friend wants to connect too? They waited until you sat down to tell you? No worries, just tap your device to theirs and now they're connected! By the way, your friend doesn't even need to open the app. As long as their device is unlocked you're good to go. After all, that's what Tenso is all about: convenience.
Did you just see that guy Tenso?! I feel like Tenso-ing right now. What's the password? I'll Tenso it! These are phrases you may start hearing. Tenso is a Japanese word meaning "transfer" or "to pass on from one place, or person, to another (through communication)." Tenso allows you to transfer Wi-Fi connection from one place (or device) to another.
What if you did just see that guy Tenso, but don't have Tenso installed? Just follow their lead and hold your device to the NFC tag they tapped. Anyone who doesn't have Tenso installed when tapping a Tenso configured tag, is taken directly to the Play Store where they can download it! (That may explain why you're here.)
In addition to being able to Tenso connection from device to device, tag to device, and device to tag, Tenso allows you to lock NFC tags ensuring what's on the tag remains unchanged.
So far we've talked about Tenso in a cafe. But, you can also Tenso in colleges, libraries, airports, resorts, hotels, at home, and anywhere else where there's a Wi-Fi network.
NFC technology is beautiful and at the brim with potential, but it seems to go under the radar, unnoticed. Tenso seeks to bring attention to the power of NFC. With more minds aware, more ideas will arise, and more things will be made simple.
