AccSpeed2 is the second version of the FIRST digital speedometer offering the possibility to combine the GPS speed measurement with that given by complex calculations on the accelerometers of the phone.
The displayed speed can be expressed in MPH or km / h, and the application also gives access to measures that are:
- The maximum speed
- The average speed
- The altitude
- The covered distance
- The angle of Tangage
- The angle of Roulis
- The angle of Lacet (Compass)
The app also has a vehicle acceleration indicator.
You have probably noticed how existing speedometer-type applications are slow and unreactive!
Well it's just because they only use the GPS speed measurement, which only updates every second.
While with AccSpeed2, a simple slider allows you to combine the speed given by the accelerometers with the GPS speed.
"Yes that's good, but what does it bring?"
Well when you drive and accelerate, AccSpeed2 measures this acceleration, and calculates the speed of movement every 0.01 seconds (it is far from the 1 seconds of GPS ;) ).
Thus the speed displayed on the phone screen will be extremely responsive, the slightest pressure on the accelerator pedal or brake will change the speed almost instantly.
To summarize:
-The speed measurement by GPS brings precision.
-The speed measurement by the accelerometers brings the speed.
It's up to you to adjust the slider to choose your use of the accelerometers.
Low use of accelerometers :
-> Very precise but less reactive speed
High use of accelerometers :
-> Very responsive but less accurate speed
