How many times have you wanted to go on a date night, to the doctors, or go shopping but found it too hard or too expensive to find a babysitter you could trust? How many times are you running late and need someone to pick up your child? It can be awkward to call around and ask your friends to help out. So, you are stuck dealing with all of the challenges of parenting yourself. In reality, many of your friends are often stuck in the identical situation. The solution is to trade free babysitting, playdate, and pickup favors with your trusted friends. TribeMinder allows overloaded parents to exchange help from a friend who has downtime and return the favor later on.
Use TribeMinder to:
* Arrange for one of your trusted friends to babysit your children
* Send urgent requests to pick up the kids when you're running late
* Organise events and track RSVPs
* Arrange playdates for your children (either individual request to parents that also act like a babysit or send an event to many parents to create a group activity)
TribeMinder is a free app that allows you to set up your profile, add your children, and invite your friends and family into your own network that only you manage. You only interact with people who you approve and only people you approve can see your profile and children.
With TribeMinder, you can easily send an alert to either:
1) Pick individual friends
2) A group of friends (i.e. a Tribe)
3) All of your friends
You can request if they are available to look after your children on a certain date and time. Some of those friends will respond with an offer to do so. You confirm which one you want.
If you know you are going to have some free time and or want to arrange a play date with your child, you can send an alert to particular friends that you are "available". They can easily create child minding requests against that availability.
If you want to invite many parents and children to a group event like a birthday party, a BBQ, or a play at a park, you can send out an "event" to a selection of friends and easily monitor responses and make updates.
TribeMinder uses a point system to ensure parents both receive child minding favors and that they also provide the favors as well. You use points to create child minding requests. Creating events (like a BBQ) doesn't require points. You earn points when you either:
1) Complete a child minding favor
2) Refer a friend to join the app
3) Enter in a promotional voucher
4) If you don't have enough points and are in a crunch, you can buy some points for a minor fee. This helps keep the app free for all the other users.
TribeMinder is easy to join:
1. Download the app
2. Create your public profile which any other user can see (i.e. your real name, username, and which city you live in)
3. Create your private profile which only your trusted friends can see. This has your exact contact details and address
4. Create a profile for each of your children which only your friends can see.
5. You can alter settings on how often you receive alerts on your smartphone. You will see everything when you log into the app but you have a choice to control how often you receive pop up alerts when friends do certain things
6. Invite your friends onto the app. Currently, for each friend who joins, both of you will receive 1 point
7. If you have access to a promotional voucher, enter that into the app via the points menu to top off your points
8. From now on, it's easy, you don't need to do any of that again
9. Anytime you use the app you can easily:
A. Post your availability to your friends that you are free for a child minding favor
B. Request your friends to look after your children
C. Create an event
D. Invite a friend onto the app
E. Check out your calendar to see what's going on
