Alternative Caribbean Connection Entertainment Radio “ACCE RADIO” seeks to bridge the gap
between the peoples of the world through social, physical, economic and cultural interaction with
Music, News, Entertainment, Sports and Special Events through internet radio.
Alternative Caribbean Connection Entertainment, was created by Sherwin “DJ Tuffy” Holder
with assistance from Maurice “Magnificent Sound” Jackman to provide an alternate internet
radio experience.
Sherwin realized that internet radio in the Caribbean market had become drab and unimaginative
with many of the stations only playing the music of their respective ethnic backgrounds and
country of origin.
ACCE RADIO intends to change this by constantly blending and mixing the music offered by
not only the Caribbean countries, but also the music of the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia.
Caribbean nationals are found all across the globe and have adapted to the new cultures they
live and work in. So to create an alternative sound for internet radio, ACCE RADIO intends to
integrate the music of their respective islands with the music of their new home countries.
This is the ACCE RADIO mission. Our question to you is.....
What is Alternative music for you?
Here at Alternative Caribbean Connection Entertainment we seek to answer that question for
you.
If your typical thought about music from the islands conjures up images of steel drums, Rent-a-
dreds on the beach and watered down cocktails by the pool side bar you are totally off course.
Caribbean music genres are diverse. They are each syntheses of African, European, Indian and
Indigenous influences, largely created by descendants of African slaves, along with contributions
from other communities the indentured Indian workers as well as the Chinese, Portuguese,
Syrian and other European influences to the Caribbean music.
The divisions between Caribbean music genres are not always well-defined, because many
of these genres share common relations and have influenced each other in many ways and
directions.
Let us set you on track as we take you on an audio tour of these jewels in the caribbean sea. Lets
dance from Bahamas all the way down to Trinidad and Tobago and South America.
