This is the Transhipment E-Reporting (TSER) app developed for the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC). The app allows authorised staff of: national fisheries management authorities, fishing companies and fishing vessels, to:
* Create and submit new WCPFC high seas transhipment notifications and declarations
* Modify previous notifications and declarations
* Cancel previous notifications and declarations.
The TSER app:
* Is easy to use. Most data are entered using drop-down menus. There is little typing.
* Makes it easy to modify or cancel an earlier notification / declaration.
* Should work from either an office or a vessel at sea. It has been designed to work on both fast and slow internet connections, including satellite connections.
* Transmits very small packages of data. Several hundred transhipment notifications / declarations can be transmitted in one megabyte of data. This means that it is cheap to transmit notifications / declarations, even via satellite.
* Allows you to email a copy of a notification / declaration to someone else that also has the TSER app. This gives you the option of using TSER for internal record-keeping purposes.
IMPORTANT:
- The app requires iOS 9.0 or later, and an English language key pad.
- The app will run on both iPhones and iPads, but an iPad is recommended.
- Good internet connectivity is not required, but some internet connectivity is required.
- Each national fisheries management authority determines whether a password is required for the submission of notifications / declarations from vessels flagged to their country. This means that you may need a password to submit data. If you do need a password then this can be obtained from the relevant national fisheries management authority.
- The TSER app is easy to use, but a guide to the app can be downloaded from the WCPFC website. Go to the website, then enter "TSER" into the search box.
