ECES, the European Center for Electoral Support (www.eces.eu) and ECONEC, the ECOWAS Network of Electoral Commissions (econec-resao.org), which is the umbrella organization of Electoral Management Bodies (EMBs) in West Africa, have partnered to build a multilingual electoral translator.
The Presidency of ECONEC is now ensured by the Chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission of Nigeria (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu while ECES is supporting INEC with a project funded by the European Union (EU) until June 2022 and with offices located in Abuja, capital city of Nigeria.
ECES, in collaboration with INEC, supports ECONEC in its mission to promote and consolidate the democratic culture in West Africa through experience-sharing, research, capacity building and election observation.
In this context, this application was developed within the activities of the EU funded project implemented by ECES in support of INEC also in its Presidency role of ECONEC. The application will serve to all electoral stakeholders and electoral assistance-election observation practitioners who need to translate electoral terms between English, French and Portuguese which are the official languages of the EMBs of the 15 countries represented within ECONEC.
