Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India declared 2014-2015 as the Year of Convergence. Consequent upon various directives issued by the Ministry of Rural Development, Convergence of MGNREGA with Other Schemes was taken up during the year 2014-2015 with 4 (four) Departments or Sectors in limited areas. In the year 2018-2019, there are 13 Departments/Schemes converging with MGNREGA. The implementation process of MGNREGA is a bottom up, demand driven programme where Annual Work Plan or Shelf of Project are initiated at the grassroot level through assembly of villagers (Gram Sabha)
