This app, Color Matching for Toddlers, is based on a simple concept of teaching colors to toddlers. It also begins to associate the color concept with the printed name of the color.
The learning from this app can be easily extended beyond it by asking your child to show you something in the room that is some color. For example, “Can you find something blue?,” etc.
When your child can consistently show you things that are certain colors, point to something and ask, “What color is this?” When they can name colors without any hints or prompting, you know that they have internalized the concept for colors. This is the beginning of a life-long process of learning and acquiring mastery.
