What makes this an AI edition Startup Weekend?
This particular AI edition is part of the Techstars Global Startup Weekend (TGSW) series. Taking place in November 2018, the #TGSW is a global initiative by Techstars during which 15,000 entrepreneurs around the world will join a Techstars Startup Weekend. Between Nov 16-18th 2018 Budapest is joining this initiative by bringing together interested stakeholder from the Budapest community to participate in a special AI edition Techstars Startup Weekend.
During the weekend the teams will work on ideas related to artificial intelligence and machine learning. What will make it really special is the group of mentors we will have to help teams figure out the different aspects of AI applications.
What is Techstars Startup Weekend and how does it work?
Startup Weekends are 54-hour events* designed to provide superior experiential education for technical and non-technical entrepreneurs. Participants create working startups during the event and are able to collaborate with like-minded individuals outside of their daily networks. All teams get the chance to get coached by entrepreneurs and industry experts. The weekend is centered around action, innovation, and education.
With more than 4,000 events held in 150 countries since 2009 and a global community, Startup Weekend is often considered as the largest incubator in the world!
On Friday night, you'll pitch your own idea or listen to others (see the FAQs below), then vote on the most interesting ideas and form teams with diverse skill sets. You can come with friends, but you’ll get the full experience if you participate in separate teams. Remember, it’s all about the team.
Then, over the course of the weekend, you'll be challenged to create a prototype of your MVP, or minimum viable product, that fits the needs of your target customer. You'll get feedback, iterate, and likely pivot your approach entirely!
