Cert IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping
This application lets you work out what your course fees will be for the Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping. This works for both online and on-campus (Melbourne) course fees.
The Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping covers the following subjects – prepare financial reports, process financial transactions, subsidiary accounts and ledgers, financial calculations, tax requirements, operational budgets, BAS and IAS as well as payroll systems.
You will also become familiar with how to work effectively in the accounting and bookkeeping industry, introducing cloud computing into business operations as well as develop, produce and use business documents and complex spreadsheets.
The Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping will also give you the ability to identify compliance and other requirements applicable to business activity, analyse and apply industry codes of conduct associated with work activities, review and apply goods and services tax (GST) implications and code transactions, report on payroll activities and amounts withheld, reconcile and prepare activity statements and lodge activity statements.
If you want to be a BAS agent, it is also important that you learn how to establish payroll requirements, record payroll data, prepare and process payroll, handle payroll enquiries and maintain payroll systems.
To help you ease into working in the accounting and bookkeeping industry, the accounting and bookkeeping certificate will also teach you to develop professional working relationships, identify compliance requirements and support materials, set up and maintain systems to meet compliance requirements, work autonomously or in a team to complete work activities and develop and maintain your own professional competency.
In the accounting and bookkeeping course, you also get the opportunity to learn more about maintaining asset registers, record general journal entries for balance day adjustments, prepare final general ledger accounts and prepare end of period financial reports.
