If you've ever walked by an old building and wanted to learn more about it, then this app is for you! Travel-Architect was created for travelers with an interest in really old architecture. The app uses a neural net to extract features from a photo of any given building into one of four pre-modern architectural styles: Classical, Byzantine, Romanesque, and Gothic.
Then, you can explore each of these architectural styles in depth. A 3D model of important buildings from each time period is available to learn about the distinguishing features of that style, and teach you why the neural net classified your building into a given style (or two).
Finally, you can read a curated summary of each architectural period to learn more about the context of what you see in front of you.
All of this is available on your local device--the app does not require internet or data connection--so it's ideal for travelers on a guided tour or on their way to a meeting.
Newer versions will include:
