This is a simple application that allows users to render a 2-dimensional representation of an alpha helix: commonly known as a Helical Wheel. The user needs only to input the sequence of amino acids and click a button to generate the helical wheel. Also, the user is able to evaluate the helical structure based on the following criteria: an invalid amino acid is part of the sequence, a Proline exists in the sequence, or amino acids with bulky R-groups are close to each other.
The app includes the following features:
1.) Create a helical wheel with one letter abbreviations
2.) Create a helical wheel with three letter abbreviations (comma separated)
3.) Able to resize the structure by dragging the adjuster
4.) Able to see a history of previously created helical structures
5.) Able to evaluate the helical structure to a certain degree
6.) Color codes amino acids based on the following: blue for polar amino acids, black for non-polar amino acids, and red for invalid amino acids
