International Aquafeed is a monthly magazine addressing both ‘Fish Nutrition and Fish Farming Technology’ (IAF&FFT). This magazine is the leading international publications in its sector and is published by Perendale Publishers Limited of the UK in English and with every second addition being published in Chinese and Spanish.
IAF&FFT reports on the latest developments occurring in the industry, with a focus on the commercial production of fish for food in a sustainable manner and with minimal impact on the environment.
Protein from farmed fish is not only highly nutritious, but can be produced more efficiently than any other animal protein based on formulated rations. The magazine carries features from leading researchers and scientists, explaining the science behind fish rearing that ensures proper management of fish stocks and feeding regimes to product highly-nutritious, safe and affordable food.
In 2015 the production and consumption of farmed fish exceeded that consumed from wild caught fish. It is not surprising therefore, that the demand for information and knowledge to sustain this rapidly-growing food industry sector has led to IAF&FFT being published monthly and in multiple languages. Farmed fish is becoming increasingly accepted by consumers everywhere and could provide a significant option to developing countries where formulated feeds and reticulation systems can be used to protect food quality while minimizing the impact on the environment and providing valuable employment opportunities.
To help ‘kick-start’ farmed fish operations in these countries International Aquafeed re-established the UK’s branch of ‘Aquaculture without Frontiers’ charity to help the development of fish farming in developing countries.
