History:
War 71 is a war that gave birth to a new nation in the world map. It is the war that was fought by the patriotic Bengalese against the army of Pakistan. It is the war in which the readers of history finds how cruelly the majority people of a nation was put under threat in all aspects of their existence including political, economic, spiritual, linguistic and other matters. The war is an inevitable consequence of a long history of oppression, deprivation, tyranny, and conspiracy of power.
The emergence of our present Bangladesh happened in the year 1971 AD through a bloody liberation war where millions of people not involved in war had to sacrifice their lives in the face of the barbarism of the occupying Pakistani army. The people of Bangladesh had to fight for the freedom by forming a regular army of freedom fighters that included persons from all sections of people. They underwent short training courses and participated in the war that lasted for about nine months and ended in the emergence of a free sovereign country named Peoples Republic of Bangladesh. We do always remember with great respect the great sacrifice of our people who dedicated their lives in 1971.
