HOW IT WORKS
BeePresent is designed to discourage smartphone use anywhere from the classroom to the boardroom where attention and productivity are the keys to success. It scales from individual monitoring to groups of any size. Create a one time or repeating event, have people enter the join code in the BeePresent app. When users receive the notification they should launch the app, and lock the device. That’s it!
The app tracks phone usage during the event. Challenge users to earn more coins than their peers. After the event, you learn who was BeePresent and who wasn’t. Reward participants in the manner of your choosing.
IGNORE THE BUZZING
BeePresent encourages your users to ignore their phone's rings and vibrations using the same incentives that makes them want to check those notifications.
EARN COINS GIVE REWARDS
Gamify being present and learning with BeePresent. The less you use your phone, the more coins you earn. The more people participating, the more coins you earn. Reward those that demonstrate the ability to BeePresent while not using their phones with prizes you create to fit your setting.
TRACK USAGE
While users get coins and rewards, you get useful information. As the event administrator you receive a detailed email after each session listing the group’s users, the number of coins each person earned, and how many minutes the device was locked and unlocked during the event.
FREE USE
Using this app won’t sting you in the pocket book. In fact, participating in an event is always free...forever. Administrators of an event can try the app for free with unlimited usage for an unlimited number of groups for 30 days. After that it’s only $.99 a month or $9.99 for the entire year.
Continued use of GPS running in the background can decrease battery life. BeePresent has been designed to use GPS sparingly and not to track or store your location. In order to correctly track phone usage, the device must have Internet access during the event. Loss of Internet counts as being unlocked. This prevents individuals from switching to airplane mode and becoming off-task.
