YakLink is a communication platform for communities and organizations.
Organizations today do not have a unified platform for communicating. For instance, schools may refer parents to one website for looking at grades, and another to look at upcoming projects, and still another to access classroom news. YakLink attempts to bridge that communication gap, providing one platform where all communications may be achieved within an organization.
YakLink currently supports the following types of communities:
Daycares - Parents can receive notifications and event invitations, and chat with teachers or daycare staff
Schools - Students can check on homework assignments, parents can receive notifications, and parties, book-fairs, and other school events can be organized
Clinics - Appointments and meetings can be scheduled for patients; nurses, doctors, and staff can coordinate schedules; vaccination camps and parties can be organized; patients can be notified of flu outbreaks and other epidemics
Social Networking - Members can chat, plan parties and organize meet-ups.
Each of these communities has a set of roles that are defined for its members. For instance members of a Clinic may be Doctors, Nurses, Staff, or Patients.
YakLink preserves the security and privacy of communities. It is also invite-only -- only invitees to a community may take part in that community's forums, ensuring that shared contents can be closely monitored for appropriateness by the administrator.
