West Bengal Orthopaedic Association (WBOA) Is the great professional Organization with 800 active members, A large number of Local Orthopaedic Clubs is engaged with us for Various Social and academic works.
It is a versatile organisation, focuses on academics, research, social networking. WBOA’s history of birth and development is closely coordinated with that of IOA for many years.
In past the surgeons was registered under ASI , Just because they did not have MS.orth degree. But all the ASI members who practicing surgery had MS.(gen.surg) or FRCS. To solve this problem in 1954, after a lot of struggle , ASI agreed to form a Orthopaedic section under Dr. B. N. Sinha as president , Dr. R. J. Kartak and Dr. Thyammanaswami as Vice president & Dr. B. Mukhopadhyay as secretary.
This organisation organised a annual conference every year by WBOACON. The conference will cover lectures, scientific sessions, paper presentation, guest lectures and workshops. This year we are hosting WBOACON-2018, a West Bengal State level conference in Rabindrasadan Hall, Sikharpur, Baharampur, on 9th -11th February, 2018.
