Blockchain technology and programmable blockchains, such as Ethereum, brought us new possibilities, how to deal with financial routines, which may be complex and annoying.
With crypto currencies, we can transfer value instantly across the world without need of trusted middle men (banks), who charge you big fees and let you wait for their approval. But with smart platforms with programmable chains, we can do much more.
This opened space to "Decentralized Finance" know as DeFi. It includes known financial services, where the need of these middle men are replaced by algorithms, known as smart contracts.
