The next evolution in social networking, Opinito networks you with other users who share your likes and dislikes – automatically!
How to Use Opinito:
Create an account (you can choose your own username), Use your Facebook login (Choose your username here too) or just take a test drive as a guest user of Opinito.
Step 1: Create your opinion cart by selecting Love (Heart symbol - indicating that you love this keyword or you agree with it or have interest in this keyword) or Hate (Skull symbol - indicating that you hate this keyword or you disagree with it) for at least one keyword in at least one topic. For example, you could indicate Love for the keyword ‘Golden State Warriors’ in the topic ‘Sports’ or you could indicate Hate for the keyword ‘Kim Jong Un’ in the topic ‘Politics’. Currently there are 10 topics viz. Trending, Politics, Celebs, Sports, Sci/Tech, Biz/Economy, Media/Entertainment, Religion, Life and Miscellaneous. You can create your opinion cart for any one or more topics.
Step 2: Now the magic begins! Based on the Loves and Hates you indicate in your opinion cart, Opinito will automatically network you with other users who share similar Loves and Hates. Thus, depending on your Loves and Hates (which is equivalent to your opinion), you could be in network with thousands or more people. And the best part is, since your interests and opinions converge, the chances of having conflictual interactions with these people is much less.
Step 3: Now you can just interact with your network the way you would interact in any other social networking site. Start posting your opinions/thoughts, comment on others’ posts, love or hate those posts – just like any other social networking site.
Step 4: Curious about who are the other people in your network? Just visit the ‘Profile’ screen and click on any number in the My Network column. Profile screen shows you the size of your network in each topic (Yes, the beauty of Opinito is that it allows you to compartmentalize your networks. Thus, you could be in network with someone in Politics but may completely have different or even opposite Loves and Hates in, say, Sports. Opinito will then network you with that user only in Politics but will keep you un-networked with that user in Sports! That way, you have less risk of running into people who will be your polar opposites where your interaction would have been more likely conflictual).
Opinito uses Facebook only for user authentication and does not share any information with Facebook, nor does it bring any data from your Facebook account.
There is no limit on how many keywords you can select. You can indicate your Love or Hate for one or more keywords in a topic. If you do not feel strongly about a keyword (neither Love nor Hate) then you can just skip it.
We are working on a feature where any user would be able to add any keyword that he/she may be interested in. But until then, you can just select Love for the keyword ‘Opinito’ in the ‘Miscellaneous’ topic. Then post your request in that topic. We will make sure that the keyword you request will be added (provided it meets the Opinito policies).
You can click on a user’s username in the Instream (news feed from your network) and it will show you the common Loves and Hates between you and that user.
You can click the ‘cart’ icon and change your choices (Loves and Hates) for any keyword/s. When you change your opinion cart, Opinito will also change your network on the fly. Just click on the Profile to see your new network. The Instream (news feed) will also automatically change to bring only the posts and comments from your new network.
Opinito makes it easy to block any user from your network. Simply click the icon on the top right corner of that user’s post and confirm. This will ensure that that user will be removed from your network forever.
