Select your camera, select the script and scan. If ScanCode detects a QR or barcode it will execute the script or Automator workflow that you selected.
By writing your own scripts and workflows they can act as a starting point of any barcode related automation. Scanning all your books, ticket control - the options are almost limitless.
To get started with some easy examples: open the examples and the script folder from the file menu and copy over the example scripts. This is required due to the sandbox restrictions.
ScanCode uses the libraries that come with macOS to decode QR and barcodes. Apple currently supports the following types of codes:
- 2d-qr-mobile
- 2d-qr
- banking-epc-qr
- banking-swiss-qr-1
- banking-swiss-qr-2
- ean-13-composite-symbology
- ean-13
- ean-8-composite-symbology
- ean-8
- upc-a-composite-symbology
- upc-a
- upc-e-composite-symbology
- upc-e
If Apple chooses to include support for further codes they will also become available within ScanCode.
Please note:
1. Due to sandbox restrictions, the scripts must live in a specific folder.
2. Without a purchase, only the code 'TRIAL' will be passed to the scripts and workflows. This allows for a try before buy.
