AppFit is a calculator that allows you a one stop shop for immediate access to this vital information. Based on proven scientific studies and backed by one of the most well-known methods of calculating BMI and BMR in the industry. What is this BMI or BMR? They stand for Body Mass Index and Basal Metabolic Rate and each have a distinctly different meaning. If you want to know where your body stands in the scientific/medical fitness cloud, then BMI is the method chosen to understand this. BMR is a method developed to understand ones metabolism/intake requirements and based on factors such as Height, Weight and Age this will change.
The Harris/Benedict equation makes the most well-known use of this in giving you valuable information that you can make a sound decision on your calorie intake to both lose weight and maintenance your weight based on the lifestyle you live!
AppFit can be used as a simple guide for your calorie intake targets and a neat reference to where your body type will fall in the medical field.
Example Use:
Just enter your age, height(inches) and weight (lbs.) to get started! Then select you gender as well as your estimated lifestyle. Most people fall between Sedentary and Lightly Active. Sports and exercise fanatics will usually fall between Moderately and Very Active where as professional athletes and bodybuilders will fall to the extreme category. By default we have preset a 10% caloric reduction to give you an estimated target caloric intake for reference. Please adjust the calorie reduction to best suit your weight-loss mentality. Exceeding more than 30% is NOT recommended. Finally press the calculate button at the bottom to populate the data.
