You can search by almost any criteria a card can posses, such as Name, Type Line, Set Name, Mana Cost, Flavor Text, Artist, Color Identity, Watermark, Cmc, Rarity, and more.
This search will allow you to nest and negate criteria so you can say something like (color contains Blue and text contains return and not(color contains black or color contains green))
The app has a name unique browsing mode so you only see one printing for each card.
Deck building is supported using a tag(Board) system. By default the app will create 3 boards(tags) for cards in your deck. These are Total(the total copies of that card you’d have to own to build the deck), Mainboard, and Sideboard. You can add or remove any board except Total. You can also change their order, and set which ones you wish to be able to view and/or edit.
When you add cards to decks you can tell the app whether the card should be normal or foil which will eventually be used for pricing, filtering and sorting.
Decks are stored internally in a new format called jdec as it has so much new information that the .dec format cannot store. You can save or open files in this format. You can also import and export to the .dec format that is commonly used elsewhere. Note that this is not a perfect transformation and the export loses a lot of the information that was stored in the original file.
