This Chase includes 12 Places and will last 5 to 6 hours, for a full day of sightseeing fun.
PlaceChase BrooklynBound takes you across the Great East River Bridge, as it was known, into the heart of the picturesque historic waterfront neighborhoods of Brooklyn Heights and Dumbo. Explore the life and times of a colorful cast of characters that range from the curmudgeonly farmer Teunis Joralemon, who fought City Hall tooth and nail only to see his daughters marry future Brooklyn mayors, to Victoria Woodhull, the first woman to run for the U.S. Presidency, who was forced to manage her campaign from inside of a jail cell, to Robert Odlum, swimming instructor and fire safety enthusiast, who proved you would not suffocate in jumping from great height but that the landing could be fatal. We chart the rise of that quintessential American phenomenon, the pop-up city that grows seemingly overnight at the whim of hucksters, real estate speculators and transportation tycoons. This tour through America’s First Suburb and the City of Churches leads you from Brooklyn’s earliest days, through the glories of the late 1800’s, the dark days of the 1960s and 70s, to the city of today with its unusual combination of historic preservation and hipster cred.

PlaceChase asks a series of paired multiple choice questions. The first challenges you to identify and locate a key Place of interest. To answer the second question, you must find a clue or feature of that Place, hidden-in-plain-sight but often overlooked. PlaceChase offers hints to help you find Places along your Chase if you need them and an interactive map of where to look. You can always skip any question to continue on your Chase. Once you find the Place and the clue, PlaceChase rewards you with points and reveals the story of that Place, accessible as both audio narration and readable text, along with engaging images that enhance your experience.
User Guide:
• You will be asked 12 pairs of multiple choice questions
• Each question is worth up to 10 points
• The answer to the first question of each pair is the Place you need to find
• You have 2 chances to get it right
• Wrong answers reduce your possible score by 3 points
• You can access 2 hints to help you find each Place
• Each Hint reduces your possible score by 1 point
• Access the Map with Place images at any time with no point cost
• The second question in each pair challenges you to find a clue hidden in plain sight
• You can always skip ahead
• PlaceChase will identify your next Place if you skip ahead or have not answered correctly
Once downloaded, no GPS or other connectivity is required. Once purchased, the Chase is yours. You can play it as often as you like and share the experience whenever you choose.
You may enjoy your Chase in a single session or over time, whichever works best for you.
