Origin
FAIL is the Internet slang for the end of century that was popularized through images macros and short videos that show situations with unfortunate results. Traditionally, the verb fail has been used to mean the opposite of succeeding, so as not to achieve an objective. Today, the word is also commonly used as an interjection to point out a person's error or deficiency, often regardless of its magnitude.
While the exact origin of FAIL as an interjection is still unknown, the FAIL's earliest appearance in the Urban Dictionary jargon repository dates back to July 22, 2003.
