ListenInEnglish.com is a free website where you can practice listening to English in a variety of different formats.
One of the best ways to improve your English ability is to expose yourself to massive amounts of English at a level that you are able to understand (comprehensible input). This type of input is easy to find for reading (see: graded readers) but often difficult to find for listening. That is the aim of this website – to give English language learners access to massive amounts of level-appropriate listening material.
Some of the activities focus on Listening Fluency – listening for general gist and understanding. Listeners should not focus so much on structures and difficult vocabulary.
Some of the activities focus on Listening Accuracy – listening for perfect understanding. Listeners should pay close attention to structures and try to understand every word.
All of the activities have been designed to allow listeners to attempt them almost anywhere using their computer, tablet or phone. Each activity has been designed to take a relatively short amount of time (10 to 15 minutes).
