Neurodoro is an open-source app and research project designed to build a fun, helpful application for EEG in everyday life.
If you've ever used the Pomodoro technique, you know that it helps avoid procrastination by dividing work into manageable chunks. However, you might also appreciate how annoying it is when the timer forces you to stop working while you're 'in the zone'.
What if a Pomodoro work timer was able to interpret your mental state and determine when you were most productive, and when you should take a break? Using EEG and machine learning, that's what we hope to build with Neurodoro.
The app is still early in development and we do not make any claims about the accuracy of the simple algorithm we've implemented so far. Instead, we encourage users interested in contributing to the project to collect data within the app. We've provided a cognitive test that users can take while wearing a Muse EEG headband. Performance and EEG data will be uploaded to our cloud database and used to train the next generation of Neurodoro classifiers.
