This calculator enables clinicians to enter clinical data and generate risk estimations based on two popular models: NELA (the National Emergency Laparotomy Audit) and P-POSSUM. These risk scoring tools are widely used to risk assess patients for emergency laparotomy.
Risk prediction is recommended clinical best practice and PoRC: Perioperative Risk Calculator allows you to undertake this quickly and easily. As an app, it does not require an internet connection and stores no personal or patient information.
The internal algorithm is CE marked by the MHRA and has been developed for clinical use.
