he Chinese-Portuguese-English (CPE) laboratory (http://cpelab.ipm.edu.mo) of Macao Polytechnic Institute has developed a self-learning application (Diz lá!) for Chinese people to learn Portuguese anytime and anywhere.
The app provides the following interesting information and functions:
1. Word of the day: This function randomly picks a word from our backend system on a daily basis. It explains the word in both Chinese and Portuguese and provides the native Portuguese pronunciation for the word.
2. Conjugator: This function shows the tenses of a verb under different situations. There are about 15,000 verbs with more than 100 rules.
3. Conversation: This function provides approximately 1,000 commonly used sentences in our daily conversation. The sentences are grouped into more than 20 categories. By pressing the sound button next to each sentence, the user can hear how it is read by a native Portuguese speaker.
