Hong Kong Free Press is a new, non-profit English language news source seeking to unite critical voices. Free and independent, HKFP arrives amid rising concerns over declining press freedom in Hong Kong and during an important time in the city’s constitutional development.
HKFP strives to bridge the gap between Chinese and English reporting while providing a platform to raise global understanding of Hong Kong and China issues.
As a not-for-profit business, HKFP will become more sustainable over time with multiple revenue streams such as membership, crowd-funding, advertising, events, donations and content provision. As we grow, we aim to provide more comment and analysis, investigative journalism, regional coverage and explainers.
