This app helps in accurate mapping of tree species essential in forest management. It is also a critical attribute in forest inventory, biomass, and stand volume estimation.
Features of this app:
- Create a project that will contain a collection of plots.
- Use GPS-coordinates from an iPhone or iPad location services to create a new plot and its location.
- Add trees to a plot, data for each tree are typical their species, height, volume or any notes you might want to add. Typical tree species is Lodgepole Pine (LP), Douglas Fir (DF), Alpine Fir (AF), Engelman Spruce (ES), Grand Fir (GF), Ponderosa Pine (PP), Red Cedar (RC), Western Hemlock (WH), Western Larch (WL), Other Softwood (OS), Hardwood (HX) and more
- Take pictures of a plot’s surrounding and/or of the trees of a plot
- Flag a plot as completed to keep track of plots or items in the plot that might require a review at a later time.
- Upload completed plots to a central cloud server.
