SFY-Lite was designed to allow speech-language pathologists (SLPs), other professionals, parents, and potential AAC users to evaluate the Speak for Yourself application. SFY-Lite allows individuals access to the full Speak for Yourself app capabilities for five main screen (core) vocabulary buttons and a total of six secondary screen buttons.
SFY-Lite is not intended to be an individual's complete AAC language system. It was designed to determine if an individual is able to access the button size, activate the buttons, and communicate some basic wants and needs using Speak for Yourself.
In addition, SFY-Lite allows full programming capabilities for the five main screen and six secondary screen buttons. By doing this, SLPs and other professionals and family members are able to use the intuitive programming features of Speak for Yourself and access the library of almost 11,000 Smarty Symbols®.
Speak for Yourself was designed by two ASHA-certified speech-language pathologists (SLPs) with an extensive knowledge of AAC devices and implementation.
