This app is an exploration of responsive typography in augmented reality (AR), specifically as a specimen for my typeface Louvette.
When you open the app, you are in the center of the typographic designspace, and you are inside of the type specimen. The circle of words around you get progressively heavier in weight as the orange hue gets lighter. Italic words sit below with roman words above. As you get closer to each word, and its apparent size therefore gets larger, the hairline strokes of the letters becomes thinner with more refined detail. As you walk away the hairline becomes thicker for better readability at a distance, aka a smaller apparent size.
The words are constantly changing, one letter at a time, at a meditative pace. Get close to the letters. Examine them from all sides, above, below, front, back, near, and far. Walk around the designspace of the Louvette typeface and see how it changes.
