This app is intended to be used for research-related data collection. It was developed by researchers from the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health at the National University of Singapore in Singapore. Participants will be introduced to the app and will then use it during their daily lives.
SET UP
App access code for participants to allow allocation to correct study
Participants to receive de-identified user ID
Permission to collect GPS data requested via notification
Key in home-address for geo-fencing
Provide basic demographic information: date of birth, sex, height (in m), weight (in
kg)
KEY FEATURES
Dashboard for collection of data on diet, physical activity and sleeping
Side menu with profile information, about us, contact information and report
function.
Lifestyle surveys to be send to research participants.
GPS location collected every 5-min when movement detected (subject to permission
by participant).
APP PERMISSIONS
In order to run the studies and collect the appropriate data, the app requests certain permissions.
[Mandatory]
SENSORS: This allows us to collect data on your steps. This is important as we can use it to understand how much you move throughout the day. It will also be used to trigger the
collection of location data.
[Mandatory]
LOCATION (access fine and coarse location): This allows us to collect data on your current
location every 5-minutes when movement has been detected through the phone's sensor. This will help us to understand how people's locations are related to what people do in terms of health behaviors.
The following requirements are recommended for an optimised user experience:
- Minimum Android version 4.4
- At least 100MB storage space
- Google Play services installed
