Pitch 101 is based on the last 50 years of Science in Memory of Pitch. Musicians often refer to this kind of memory training, as Ear Training*.
Explanation - Repetitive brain/memory training will ‘move’ short-term memories to the long-term memory of the brain (via protein synthesis). The same processes are at steak every time we gain new knowledge or new abilities, from riding a bike, learning to swim to mastering a musical instrument or passing an examn.
Disclaimer: Perfect pitch or absolute pitch can be trained by all people, but we believe that people with musical training, will reach the goal faster. The goal being defined as, being able to identify all 12 notes without an external reference instrument.
