Synesymph is a sound visualizing application using Augmented Reality to simulate Synesthesia, a neurological condition in which one sense (in this case, hearing) involuntarily evokes another sense (in this case, sight). This is called Chromoesthesia and is sometimes referred to as “colored hearing.”
Through augmented reality, non-synesthetes can simulate the synesthetic world and thereby enlarge their awareness of the brain’s capabilities. This app takes users a step closer towards understanding the world through another’s experience of life, the sound to sight synesthetic experience.
