The PAPAYA (Privacy leakages from ApP trAjectorY dAta) will monitor installed applications for calls to positioning functions in the operative system, track how they collect location data (when, where, from which source, with which precision, etc.), and then profile such services based in terms of both raw information (i.e., the trajectories) as well as the indirect knowledge (from data mining of the trajectories) they could possibly learn about the user.
Stationary points are calculated by an algorithm as soon as the mobile is connected to a charging point.
The first beta of the application gathers data from the applications installed in the mobile phone.
Gathering network data is being worked.
