About BAGRI-
Government of Bihar (GoB) is implementing Bihar Agricultural Growth and Reform Initiative (BAGRI) programme with the support of Department for International Development (DFID), UK. BAGRI intends to complement the Government of Bihar; in implementation of its Agricultural Road Map 2012-17; enabling sustainable and inclusive growth leading to poverty reduction in the state. The Department of Agriculture (DoA), is the recipient of the programme and the farmers of Bihar are the main beneficiaries of this intervention. PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) (P) Ltd. led consortium is entrusted with the responsibility of implementing the programme.
Along with multiple policy and implementation initiatives for development of the Agriculture sector, the Government of Bihar intends to establish backward and forward linkages for farmers in Bihar, enable agriculture market development and increase private investment in agriculture. BAGRI is a 5 year technical assistance programme commenced in July 2015. The Programme focuses its farmer level interventions on a basket of fruits and vegetable having geographical spread in 11 districts of the State covering over 1 lakh households directly through establishing over 20 farmer Producers Organizations (FPOs).

BAMIS- Bihar Agricultural Market Information System, has been initiated to disseminate fruits and vegetables (F&V) prices from the identified markets/mandi operational in 11 Districts of BAGRI Project namely Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Samastipur, Begusaisari, Nalanda, Patna, Gaya, Rohtas, Bhojpur and Buxar. BAMIS is being updated with minimum and maximum price of the selected F&V on daily basis..BAMIS will support small and marginal farmers in decision making by providing market price information of F&V on daily basis.
Disclaimer- Any decision taken up by the end user of price data is completely based on their own judgement and analysis. If price is found wrong, farmers and other stake holder can't claim any compensation etc.
