In 2015, Singapore celebrated its 50th Anniversary (“SG50”) as a young nation.
Singapore benefited from the collective wisdom and assistance of the international community during its early years of independence. This included UN agencies such as UNESCO and UNCTAD, international organisations like WHO and World Bank, as well as countries such as Japan.
To give back to the international community, Singapore established the SCP in 1992 to share its developmental experience with others. The SCP is premised on Singapore's firm belief that investment in human resource and capacity building is critical to long-term sustainable development. Till date, over 120,000 participants from more than 170 countries and territories have attended SCP programmes.
