The research has received funding from the Al Jalila Foundation 2017 Research Grants – Type Of Mood: A novel mental health state recognition of young adults in UAE through their typing motifs on smartphones.
Type Of Mood is an application that aims to collect meta-data of typing characteristics in order to analyse the correlation between depression and typing dynamics. These data are referring to user's self-reports of their emotional state and meta-data of typing dynamics such as pressure applied to the keys, key switching speed, keystroke duration and others, while there will be no use or logging of the text entered by the user.
What data will be collected?
- Keystrokes-related data when you type using the Emotions Keyboard. What you type is never recorded.
- Emotional content using the Emotions application. What you type is never recorded.
Withdraw from the study?
You can withdraw your consent at any point in time and stop participation and further data collection by uninstalling the application; thus further data collection will cease.
