SoundMeter X turns your iOS device into a handheld data-logging sound level meter (SLM), data-logging noise dosimeter, multi-channel data recorder, and real-time analyzer (RTA).
Input signals can be acquired from the current audio input path (iOS automatically selects the audio input path according to which external audio devices, if any, are connected to your iOS device). Sensitivity calibration can also be performed for any audio input device or input channel.
In addition to real-time sound level measurements, SoundMeter can stream raw sound data to audio files, and store acquired sound level data, including date, time, and location, in CSV or TXT (tab-delimited) files, MAT-files, or high-resolution PDF images for later retrieval from your device.
SoundMeter may be downloaded for free from the App Store. The free download includes a sound level meter tool, which supports time exponential weighted sound levels, Lp, with flat frequency weighting and fast time weighting (LpAF). Additional tools and features are offered via auto-renewable subscriptions.

The Pro Tool Set subscription can be shared between SoundMeter X and SignalScope X. It unlocks all tools and features of the SoundMeter Pro subscription in SoundMeter X and all tools and features of the Pro Tool Set subscription in SignalScope X (iCloud login required).
Regarding subscriptions
- Payment will be charged to your iTunes Account at the end of the free trial period, unless you have turned off automatic renewal. If the free trial has already expired, payment will be charged at confirmation of subscription purchase.
- Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period for the same price as the current period.
- You may manage your subscriptions and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to your iTunes Account Settings after purchase.
- Any unused portion of the free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
