In order to foster healthier and more secure habits for citizens and patients, the SmartRoute application uses real data provided by sensing infrastructure of the cities and crowdsourcing-based information provided by citizens. With this information we propose a new way of using the sensing capabilities of smart cities by means of recommender systems that allow citizens/patients to obtain recommendations about the routes that better fit their capacities.
