SMIDemo has been developed to showcase the capabilities of the mobile Access-Control solutions provided by SMI, now available for NFC-equipped smartphones.
It is designed to demonstrate how a suitable phone or device is used to provide enhanced, fully mobile, Access Control functionality anywhere in the world, linked to one of several top-tier commercial access control systems. SMI’s products are currently deployed in some 50 countries around the world, across many industries and disciplines.
The fully functioning demo application enables enrolment of a sample set of cardholders and badges, capturing data to include Name and Photo, Barcode and/or Card number. It additionally facilitates entry of associated access control data such as Card Status, and door access decision permissions.
For use with RFID credentials, the app can read Desfire EV1 & EV2, and Mifare cards, and for use with barcodes is compatible with any device with a camera.
Notes:
∙ Keys for the entered cards are currently stored in plain text in the SMIDemo internal database
∙ The app has been tested on Samsung S5, Pixel 1 & 2, and should work on most NFC-equipped phones providing they are NXP compatible.
