Project Y4PZ is a non-governmental, non-political and non-profit making initiative with the sole purpose of promoting a Culture of Peace (CoP) among Zambian youths. As PY4PZ we believe in the inestimable value of educating and mobilizing youth in support of democracy and a CoP. The Project is premised on the belief that peace in the minds of the youth is the best safeguard for a country's prosperity and future.

The Need
In order to preclude a culture of hatred and violence from growing in Zambia, it is imperative that a CoP is inculcated in the youth who are the future leaders of the country and make up approximately 33.3% and 41.9% of the populations in the rural and urban areas respectively. Youths are Zambia's main human resource and must be encouraged and supported to make the choice to reject a culture of hatred and violence for a CoP. A culture of hatred and violence is symptomatic of an underlying deficiency in moral, ethical, intellectual and spiritual capacity. It is a manifestation of a limited world view caused by a limited repertoire of knowledge and communication skills for interpersonal relations and conflict resolution. Indeed, if unattended to, the violent inclinations on one generation can spill over to the next. It is therefore imperative to curtail this occurrence by promoting a CoP.
