The potentials of the development of women entrepreneurs in Bangladesh has not been fully materialised due to many socio-cultural problems. In most of the cases, initiatives by the women entrepreneurs fail at the initial stages due to their unawareness of the existing financial and marketing windows to boost up their enterprises. Comprehensive entrepreneurship knowledge including information on technical and financial opportunities are still limited to books adorned in shelves. Sometimes thick guide books for the women entrepreneurs prove to be unfriendly to the readers. Furthermore, there has been dearth of user-friendly virtual platforms where women can access the relevant information easily.
Therefore, the “Women Entrepreneurs” project has been initiated with the objective of familiarizing the women entrepreneur with the entrepreneurship supporting organizations. This project will empower young women who has inner entrepreneurship spark to make them stand out. It focuses on bringing about a qualitative change in the lives of young women by giving a different meaning to empowerment.
The objectives of the project include:
To develop a user-friendly online platform for the women entrepreneurs of all tiers
To identify young women from diversified backgrounds and help build their confidence and awareness.
To provide a glimpse of entrepreneurship and familiarize among the women community of Bangladesh.
To build up women entrepreneur database.
To build up a database of those organizations and institutions, those are encouraging women entrepreneurship.
To build up a database of organizations those are creating opportunities for women.
To build up a database of SME banking, loan, and other financial opportunities for women entrepreneurs of Bangladesh
Features of the App
The app contains all Banks and Financial Institutions’ Contact Information of Head Office.
The app contains FAQ, where Women Entrepreneurs will find basic information about app and loan products.
The app contains Contact menu where Women Entrepreneurs can find contact information of Bangladesh Bank.
The app contains all available loan products info in single place.
Some institutions have no specialized loan products for women entrepreneurs. But, they can still avail loan from that institutions. They have to contact with the Banks directly.
The app is developed in two language: Bengali and English. English is the original of loan description, Bengali form is the translation of English language.
Women entrepreneurs can use this app in their smart phone in off line platform.
Finally, we hope this app is going to play effective role to empower thousands of women entrepreneurs financially who are aspiring to grow and expand their business in across the country. Through this android application, they will be able to learn about available women entrepreneurs’ loan products of Banks and Financial Institutions and apply for the required loan whenever needed.
