VoSee is a mobile and desktop application that allows a Deaf user to be in control of their communication. VoSee is a platform for ASL interpreters and Deaf people to interact on-demand for all of a Deaf user’s needs including on-site interpreting and video on-demand calls. You can start with a VRI call and use while waiting for a live interpreter to come on location all through the app. We believe everyone has the right to be understood! Some situations allow the Deaf user to get interpreting services free of charge.
The shortage of interpreters, 300 Deaf people to 1 interpreter, creates unreliable availability and sometimes nonexistent services. VoSee solves this by supporting certified interpreters and maximizing their time in unique ways to provide interpreting for on-Site, VRI and emergency on demand.
Using location-based functionality and interpreter availability, VoSee connects certified interpreters to those looking for them within approximately a 25-mile radius. Similar to ridesharing apps, approved interpreters who are available or have availability can be scheduled. You can rate interpreters for accountability by giving badges for what you see interpreter’s strengths are. This is a way to see the good skills interpreters have like professionalism, strong ASL skills, strong transliteration skills, or friendly. There are many features being developed with time!
