Description
This App can help teenagers and adults, even kids, to establish long-term memory of vocabularies.
When you read a web page and encounter some vocabularies, simply use this App as translation tool, copy the sentence with the vocabularies and paste it to this App. This App will then translate (Powered by Yandex) the word and sentence to your “Forgotten” list.
By default, the “Quiz” will pick a word retrieved from the earliest 15 “Forgotten” vocabularies, 15 “Not Familiar” vocabularies and 15 randomly “Learned” words to refresh your memory. You may indicate such word is “Learned”, “Not Familiar” or “Forgotten”. The picking logic of Quiz can be customized to fit your learning style.
You may further set maximum 3 daily Quiz notifications to remind you to study.
Progress bars in Main screen encourage you to achieve your learning target (3 new vocabularies per day by default, customizable)
If you have a list of vocabularies and sample sentences, you can use the “Import your vocabulary” function (by select “Import vocabularies with sample sentences”) to paste them for import.
“Speech” buttons are supported by TextToSpeech (TTS) engine of your device. Depends on your TSS engine, “Speech” function may not function for all languages. However, for Lollipop or above (i.e. Android version 5.0 / API 21 or above), different voices supported by your TSS engine can be selected for Speech function (e.g. male / female voices, different dialects).
Initially, several hundreds commonly tested TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) vocabularies and their sample sentences with translations are available for “Import from Library”.
This App also supports learning vocabularies of multiple languages at the same time.
