The aim of the app is to encourage community participation by providing information about each of the amazing Afrikaburn 2019 projects. The idea is that you can find information such as the artist manifesto, project website, collective etc. Hopefully you can use the app to appreciate the art and get more involved!
App contains information about Afrikaburn projects and the event itself - version 18 of the app has latest project info and map locations. You can also search for a particular project. Clicking the heart button will make that project a favourite. You can then filter projects by various categories.
There is an offline map showing this years projects. Clicking the speech bubbles associated with each project pin will show you that projects info! Showing your location on the map will require location permissions and for your phone's GPS to be turned on.
You can also scan custom Afrikaburn QR codes at the event to display information about that project. Granting camera permissions allows you to scan the QR codes on Mutant Vehicles to learn more about each vehicle.
Also contains a weather forecast, list of things to bring and directions for driving to Afrikaburn. Remember to download an offline version of your route in Google Maps since you will lose cellphone reception during your drive to Afrikaburn.
I will continue to add features to the app as the event draws nearer - so keep updating the app!
