The Air Distribution application is intended for the calculation of air ducts for air conditioning and ventilation systems, as well as for the quick selection of grilles and diffusers for air under the most common conditions of use.
You can selected any combination of speed units (m/s, FPM), flow rate (m3/h, l/s, CFM), (mm H2O/m, Pa/m, In H2O/100Ft) and dimensions (mm, inches) which are stored and used until the selection of other units.
Five types of ducts with different roughness factors are calculated: Fiberglass with inner aluminium, galvanized steel sheet, fiberglass with inner veil, flexible metal and flexible with metal core.
The calculation of ducts is initiated by default with the most usual calculation limits: maximum air velocity = 2000 FPM and maximum friction loss = 0.12 In H2O/100Ft, and can be changed if desired.
This allows the calculations to be performed only by entering the air flow rate.
In ducts in fiberglass, with veil or inner aluminum the height and width can be modified as desired, with the limit that the relationship between the sides allows a good operation.
In the ducts built in galvanized sheet the results are given simultaneously for circular, square or rectangular and flat-oval, being able to vary the height of both the rectangular ducts and the flat-oval.
Once the calculation is done, the exact equivalent diameter, air velocity and actual friction loss of the duct are indicated.
The application is indicated to solve on field work any modification as well as to realize the calculations of project in the technical office.
