The Taittiriya Upanishad is a part of the Krishna Yajur Veda and forms a part of the seventh, eighth and ninth chapters of the Taittiriya Aranyaka. One among the major Upanishadic texts, the Taittiriya Upanisad is also one of the few Upanisats that are completely recited following a structured formula for notation and intonation. It crystallises some of the profound principles of Indian philosophy and sis often regarded even as a primary source for Vedantic philosophy. Swathi Soft Solutions brings to you in the user friendly App, the three important sections of the Taittiriya Upanisat rendered by world-renowned yoga master, TKV Desikachar in the tradition of the legendary yogi, T Krishnamacharya.
Vedanta philosophy.
The first chapter of the Upanishad, Shikshavalli prescribes disciplines, rituals, meditations, values, and codes of conduct for to be followed in daily life with a view towards achieving salvation, moksha.
The second chapter, Brahmanandavalli very beautifully takes us through the ancient masters' conception of the human soul as being a potent manifestation of the Supreme, which vitalises every dimension of the human system and yet remains in itself, a distinct, unchanging entity.
The third chapter, Bhriguvalli presents the process of philosophic enquiry that leads us to an understanding of the Supreme within, the Brahman.
Each chapter is called, ìvalliî indicating a stage in the development of one's maturity, or spiritual growth. Each anuvaka or section in each valli is a lesson signifying a step in one's progress in Vedic philosophical education. The entire Upanishad has a total of 31 such short and yet profound lessons.
