The Weekend Leader, launched in 2010, is a pioneer in positive journalism, and has a loyal readership for its stories of Amazing Entrepreneurs, Super Startups, and Inspiring Indians. The Weekend Leader App – with English, Tamil and Hindi editions – has been designed to help our readers follow us more closely and get notified on every story update.
P C Vinoj Kumar, an award-winning journalist launched The Weekend Leader, an online magazine, (www.theweekendleader.com) in September 2010 to cover positive and inspiring news, which do not get sufficient attention in the mainstream media. With around half a million followers on Facebook (www.facebook.com/theweekendleader), The Weekend Leader is fulfilling its objective by publishing inspiring stories of change agents, and success stories of entrepreneurs/ startups.
The Tamil Edition of The Weekend Leader (www.tamil.theweekendleader.com) was launched in April 2017 and the Hindi edition (www.hindi.theweekendleader.com) in December 2017.
Another Group publication, The Lead Star, a print annual magazine, printed on glossy art paper that has the feel of a coffee table book, was launched in 2015. The magazine carries the best stories from The Weekend Leader and is circulated among CEOs, top corporate executives, civil servants and school/college students.
Vinoj Kumar is a recipient of the prestigious Statesman Rural Reporting Award in 2006. In a journalistic career that began in the early 1990s, he has reported for a wide range of publications including Mid-Day, Dainik Bhaskar, and Tehelka. After a five-year stint in Tehelka, initially as principal correspondent and later as special correspondent, he resigned his job in 2010 to launch The Weekend Leader.
